Facebook page for The Spinney

6 April 2018 at 09:53

Why not sign up to the facebook group for The Spinney.

This piece of woodland around the old Park Prewett Hospital site offers a great circular walk.

Funding has been secured to improve the signage and access for the future.  The first phase of the improved footpath has been finished and the next phase will start in the next few weeks.

The facebook group will update you on events and developments to improve this space for the community.

Search "The Spinney, Rooksdown" in groups on facebook

The Spinney is owned by The Land Trust with Rooksdown Community Association as their local management partner.

Big Bat Walk - Saturday 22nd September

24 July 2018 at 07:08

Our Big Bat Walk will give you the chance not only to see these amazing flying mammals and their astonishing aerial acrobatics, but also learn more about them.  We supply bat detectors to help you identify the species that are swooping around and to listen to them "chattering" as they hunt for food.

If you also decorated a bat at the Summer Fair you will see if you can find yours flying in the trees!

We will meet at the Community Centre at 6.30pm with sunset only 20 minutes away.  Adults and children over 8 years are welcome to attend.  Children should be accompanied by an adult.  Attendance is free.
